Backstory

𝔹𝕒𝕔𝕜 𝕤𝕥𝕠𝕣𝕪:

Gwen is honestly no one special in the grand scheme of things, and she genuinely likes it that way. Her life is relatively uncomplicated and she doesn't have any world ending worries to focus on on a daily basis.

She was born in Midgar, and hasn't lived anywhere else, or even travelled much outside if a few trips to the Costa Del Sol and the Golden Saucer. She's not a woman with big goals or lofty ambitions, she's just happy to have found a place in the world that leaves her feeling fulfilled and happy.

She was happy and a child and is happy still, though she isn't quite as outgoing and extrovert as she sometimes wishes she was. Gwen quite often finds that after being in a very social setting she needs time to be able to recharge and unwind, usually with a lovely cup of tea and one of her many, many favourite books.

She learned to cook from her mother at quite a young age, starting with baking things like cupcakes and biscuits, but found she loved the whole range of things from baking to cooking for the family. She absolutely adores it, and cooking is easily her favourite hobby now a days, though reading and writing come close behind.

She was thick as thieves with her childhood friend Elliot Sherwood until their late teen years, where due to reasons of her own, Elliot vanished. Their friendship was partly why Gwen never needed to be as loud and outgoing, she had Elliot for that, and ended up taking the slightly softer more nurturing role. However she loved the amount of fun that Elliot bright into her life, and since the two of them have reconnected she's absolutely all about rekindling that level of fun. She's never been lonely, always able to talk to her neighbours or colleagues at work, hut it has never formed into the deep connection that she shared with Elliot.

She has worked as a cleaner for Shinra since she was in her early twenties. At first she had focussed on trying to set up her own little cleaning business, helping out the elderly and people without enough time to manage their houses, but sadly the hours and income weren't reliable. She took a job at Shinra for the stability and good wages it offered but felt the pangs of morality experiance by many of the companies employees. But... There was a need to survive wasn't there?

With the company now going in a newer, more environmentally sound direction, its a lot easier to breathe and relax.

She enjoys her job, cleaning is very satisfying to her and she doesn't feel as though she's at the bottom of a ladder or anything, after all. Without the smaller jobs being filled, the higher ups would struggle to get the things done they need to focus on!

Age : 27
Height : 5'6 / 167cm
Build : The slim side of average but kinda soft, she's not really a gym bunny
Appearance : Caucasian, a few freckles, quite light brown eyes and fairly long brown hair with a bit of a wave to it.
Style : She likes to be soft and comfortable. She chooses warm colours and snuggly soft fabrics. She likes to have her own style, but isn't exactly outrageous. She just wants to be herself.
Sexuality : Heterosexual as far as she knows, but she's not closing any doors, she's just never been into another woman thus far.
Occupation : Cleaner at ShinRa HQ

Tidbits about her : Gwen has one heck of a sweet tooth with an special fondness for vanilla cream and pastries. She's been working at getting better at making them because she absolutely adores them!

Shes a pescatarian, having given up eating meat when Elliot did, and frequently reminds her "I gave up steak for you!" Just best friend things right?

She doesn't have the best sense of direction, but the map app on her phone is an absolute godsend!

She absolutely loves playing card games and board games, but has an absolute lack of any sort of poker face since she always enjoys herself so much. Crosswords, however, are the absolute bane of her existence.

Her favourite without a doubt is pizza, or a gorgeous strawberry creme gateaux, but if she's trying to be healthier she's also a big fan of salads and vegetable pasta bakes! Not crazy healthy, but better than eating cake three meals a day! Even if the cake does contain fruit!

Shes not much of a party girl, but with the right company she can really enjoy some music and a dance! She's more careful going out on her own these days, however. With a little maturity comes the ability to recognise risk more easily.

Being the sort of person who is generally quite happy on their own, Gwen hasn't really been in very many romantic relationships. In fact she can easily count them on one hand. She's perfectly happy with her own company and with making friends. She doesn't need romantic love to feel her life is fulfilled. That doesn't mean it wouldn't be a nice addition however!

The first of her very few relationships was when she was six years old a brief little childhood thing, the second at fifteen, not so brief and also the genesis of Jax and Russ for Elliot and herself, the guy turned out to be a bit of a shit head. And the third at twenty-two. This one she was very fond of, but they simply ended up drifting apart a little, finding that they differed romantically. Friendship however they still have. He's married now, very happy and Gwen is godmother to both of his kids. They work much, much better as friends than they ever did as a couple.

Since then she's been single and quite comfortable with it really. She doesn't need companionship to be happy and is generally quite happy with her own company, and the friends she has in Elliot and colleagues from work

Relationships

Elliot Sherwood : Childhood friend and current best friend. She'd move mountains for that tiny woman if she could! Elliot vanished form her life for far too long, and now she has her back Gwen badly doesn't want to let her go! They have an easy, relaxed way of being around each other. Both able to speak their minds and be entirely open with one another. Elliot has taught her a lot about who she is and who she wants to be, but also helped her to shrink away from people a little more than she should have, since Elliot was so much better at handling social situations. However! She wouldn't change her mouthy best friend for the whole world.

Rufus Shinra : Her bosses bosses boss and then some. Unlikely companions in any setting, especially due to the fact she accidentally kidnapped him for one night. To her spare room. He was drunk. Very.
She actually considers him to be a friend, not just someone she works for and finds his company very charming and entertaining. He's got a very quick mind and witty turn of phrase. Now that she's comfortable around him it's a source of honestly happiness to just chat with him when she can! They've not really managed a conversation that didn't kick off in a weird way however.
